Biography

Dr. Rahmin Bender-Salazar is an Entrepreneur, Social Psychologist, and Academic focused on the application of design research and creativity on innovation, business, and policy that is socially and ecologically sensitive in a global context. He is a lecturer and researcher focused on behavioral change, sustainable futures, entrepreneurship, and socio-ecological systems. He is also the founder of Creativo Design, a design thinking consultancy, which works at the crossroads of management consulting, policymaking, social psychology, and design to engage in the co-creation of products and services on all levels for social impact.

Research Interests

His research agenda is driven by the conviction that the challenges of our time cannot be effectively addressed in isolation. Instead, he advocates for a holistic approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of societal and ecological issues. Through a lens of systems and design thinking, his research focuses on behavioral change, innovation, and entrepreneurship, aiming to transcend the traditional boundaries between disciplines. Dr. Bender-Salazars goal is to foster a learning posture that integrates teaching, research, and practice, thereby enabling us to tackle wicked problems more effectively. By exploring how diverse groups navigate challenges and establish ventures, my work delves into areas such as sustainable innovation, systems change, circular economy, social justice, and codesigned community solutions, contributing to a more interconnected and equitable society on local, regional, and international scales.
