Dr Priyanka Verma (SMIEEE, FIETE, MACM)is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor)in the School of Computer Science at the University of Galway. A globally recognized expert, Dr. Verma has built a distinguished career at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI)and Cybersecurity, shaping the future of these transformative fields through groundbreaking research and innovation. Previously, Dr Verma served as a Research Fellow at the University of Limerick and was awarded the prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship at the Data Science Institute, University of Galway, cementing her position as a leader in advancing research excellence. Dr Verma completed her PhD at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), an institution of National Importance in India, and furthered her expertise through the Leadership and Innovation Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. With over 15 years of experience in teaching and research, she has delivered impactful education in fields such as AI, cybersecurity, and innovation at premier institutions like Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), India. A prolific researcher, Dr Verma has secured competitive research funding from renowned organizations, including the European Union (EU), Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST). She has published extensively in high-impact journals such as IEEE, ACM, and Elsevier and presented at top-tier international conferences. Her influential work has earned significant citations, reflecting her trailblazing contributions to AI, cybersecurity, and smart technologies. Dr Verma's achievements have been widely recognized. She is a senior member of IEEE, a fellow member of IETE, and a professional member of ACM, with accolades that underscore her standing in the global research community. Among her numerous honours, she was a finalist for the Women in STEM Awards and recognized as a young Scientist. She received prestigious accolades such as the SRIJAN Award, Achiever of the Quarter, and the thePHDCCI Young Researcher Award. As a highly sought-after keynote speaker, session chair, and mentor, Dr Verma collaborates with leading global research institutions and has been a visiting Research Scholar at Anglia Ruskin University, UK. She actively supervises undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, fostering Excellence and innovation. Her contributions align with the University of Galways 2020-2025 Strategy, advancing Excellence through data, enabling technologies, and advanced computing platforms.
