Biography
Ms. Pamela Likely is a lecturer in Shannon College of Hotel Management since 2016 and the Co-Chair of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee. She teaches across all years at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Pamela’s areas of interest and teaching modules include; Business and Management, Accommodation Services & Accommodation Management, International Human Resource Management, IT for Hospitality and IT for Business. Pamela was the project lead in embedding Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Shannon College in 2021/2022. She received the Dean’s Award for Inclusive Teaching from the Dean of the College of Business, Public Policy and Law, University of Galway, in 2022. Pamela was nominated for the award by students, in recognition of her highly inclusive and empathetic approach to teaching.
Pamela is an alumna of Shannon College, graduating with her Bachelor's degree in Business & International Hotel Management in 2005. Further augmenting her knowledge and passion for the tourism and hospitality industry, she pursued a Master's of Arts degree in International Tourism at The University of Limerick in 2016, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education in the University of Galway in 2019.
Prior to joining academia, Pamela gained over a decade of significant senior management experience in some of the world's most renowned five-star hotels in Switzerland and Ireland.
