Biography

Padraic Killeen holds a BA in English and Philosophy from University of Galway and an MA in English Literature and Publishing from the same institution. He completed a doctorate in Film Studies in Trinity College Dublin in 2015. He istheauthorof TheDarkInterval: FilmNoir,Iconography,andAffect (Bloomsbury,2022), aswellas peer-reviewed articlesintheareasoffilm, media studies, and digital arts and culture. Padraic is a keen video essayist and advocate of practice-basedmodelsof research and learning. His scholarly work is complemented by a longstanding career in arts journalism, wherein he published widely on topics in theatre,film, musicandphotography.
