Dr Pádraig MacNeela completed his undergraduate degree and postgraduate research at the School of Psychology, NUI Galway. He was Lecturer and Director of Research amp; Development at the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy amp; Community Health at Dublin City University until 2004, when he joined the School of Psychology at NUI Galway as a Lecturer. He has served as Director of PhD Studies, Assistant Head of School, and is currently Co-Chair of the Consent Framework Implementation Working Group. His research interests include sexual health topics such as consent, sexual violence and harassment; mental health, resilience and positive adjustment to trauma; culture change and organisational development; volunteering, prosocial behaviour and engagement; and mental health service provision, particularly for young people. His work with voluntary organisations goes back to 1999, and includes a range of groups concerning physical and mental health, homelessness, and social justice.
