Biography
Dr. Nikhil Korhale is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Climate and Air Pollution Studies in the Department of Physics at the University of Galway, Ireland. He earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University India. His research interests include air pollution, atmospheric chemistry, emissions inventory development, trace gas measurements, and meteorology. He worked on an ozone project studying ozone trends in Ireland using observational data, satellite measurements, and WRF-Chem modeling. Prior to this, he worked as a Project Scientist at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), India. He has strong technical expertise in programming (Python, R, Linux), high-performance computing, GIS, and data analysis tools. He has experience in handling pollutant monitoring instruments as well as laboratory instruments, including organic and elemental carbon analyzers, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Ion Chromatography, and PTR-MS. He combines his skills with a deep understanding of atmospheric processes to address critical challenges in air quality and climate science.
