Murray Scott is a lecturer in the Business Information Systems Discipline at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business amp; Economics.He holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Dundee and completed the Higher Diploma in Systems Analysis and Masters in Commerce from NUI Galway. He was awarded a Ph.D. in the area of eGovernment and Public - No restriction Value from NUI Galway. Murray has over 18 years of experience in the academic environment, and has previously served as visiting Professor at the Kogod School of Business, American University, Washington DC and as external examiner for Dublin City University. Murrays research has been published in leading international journals and conferences, including the AIS Senior Scholars Basket of Journals.Murrays current research addresses current environmental and sustainability challenges by developing new innovative models for participative, user-centred, Public - No restriction services aiming at creating greener communities in remote areas.a target=_blank rel=nofollow href=https:emergreen.interreg-npa.euabout-the-projecthttps:emergreen.interreg-npa.euabout-the-project Murray is currently Vice Dean of Internationalisation for the College of Business, Public - No restriction Policy and Law.He has also served as Head of Discipline for Business Information Systems and alsoas programme director for the MSc in Business Information SystemsCloud Computing Research and B.Sc Business Information Systems. Murray maintains active professional and research links with leading indigenous and multi-national companies including SAP, BearingPoint, Accenture and Storm Technologies. He was awarded the HP Technology for Teaching Higher Education Grant in support of innovative teaching initiatives in the area of international student virtual teams. Murray also won the Guinness IMI Sir Charles Harvey Award for outstanding achievement in business management postgraduate research.
