[English version below]Is Ollamh Bunaithe le Sean- agus Meán-Ghaeilge agus Teangeolaíocht Cheilteach í Máirín Ní Dhonnchadha. Fuair sí a hoideachas Tríú Leibhéil in Ollscoil na hÉireann, Corcaigh (áit ar ghnóthaigh sí céim BA sa Léann Ceilteach, MA sa tSean-Ghaeilge, agus PhD sa tSean-Ghaeilge), Jesus College, Oxford, agus Scoil an Léinn Cheiltigh in Institiúid Ard-Léinn Bhaile Átha Cliath. She was educated at University College, Cork (BA in Celtic Studies, MA in Old and Middle Irish, PhD in Old and Middle Irish), Jesus College, Oxford, and the School of Celtic Studies of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS). Before coming to NUI Galway in 1996 she had been an Assistant Editor at the Royal Irish Academys Foclóir na Nua-Ghaeilge , a lecturer in ModernIrish at University College, Dublin and Trinity College, Dublin, and an Assistant Professor at the School of Celtic Studies, DIAS.At NUI Galway she has served as amember of the Governing Authority, and as Dean of the Faculty of Celtic Studies.She has published widely on many aspects of medieval and modern Gaelic language and literature, and is keen to mediate Gaelic tradition to a broad audience.She is Director of Postgraduate Studies in Old and Middle Irish and Celtic Studies, and would welcome enquiries from prospective MA and PhD students in these areas.
