Biography

Dr. Lisa Pursell BSc PhD is a lecturer in Health Promotion and is currently Head of Discipline of Health Promotion in the School of Health Sciences, National University of Ireland, Galway, having previously been Assistant Director of the MAPG Diploma in Health Promotion Programme in the Discipline since 2008. She has previously worked as a senior researcher in the Health Promotion Research Centre, NUIG and as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Microbiology, NUIG. She completed a primary degree in Biology at the University of Derby and a PhD in Microbiology at NUIG.Teaching Interests: - Research methodology- Epidemiology - Statistics- Health Promotion - Problem based learning approaches to teachingResearch Interests:- Health and well-being associated with humanother species interactions- Workplace and organisational behaviours - Health impact assessment processes and methodology - Evaluation of impact assessments - Benchmarking and development of indicators of inequality - Health inequity
