Biography

Ms. Lisa Glynn is a Lecturer Above the Bar in General Nursing within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Currently, she is Programme Director of the Master in Health Science in Advanced Practice Nursing and Postgraduate Diploma for Advanced Practice. She has completed her PhD, leading a Randomised Control Trial exploring digital health among the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) population. Nationally, this study is first of its kind. Research interests includes; COVID-19, COPD, digital health, smoking trends, invasive and non-invasive ventilation anddelirium. Currently, she is the nursing representative on the first Irish Thoracic Society Tobacco Control Advisory Group. Lisa has a significant clinical background which includes, Advance Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and Registered Nurse Prescriber in Respiratory Medicine (Nominated in the Top 100 Professionals in Ireland, December 2021), Clinical Nurse Specialist III in Cardiothoracic, Intensive Care, General Surgery and Gynaecology.

Teaching Interests

Teaching interests includes, advanced practice, nurse prescribing, acute and emergency medicine medicine, clinical governance, legal and ethical issues, competency assessment, reflection and research.
