Biography

Liam Kilmartin graduated from NUI, Galway (UCG) in 1990 with a BE in Electronic Engineering, and with a MEngSc in 1994. . He was employed as a contract lecturer from September 1992 to September 1994and has been a permanent member of the academic staff of the Electronic Engineering discipline since September 1994.He currently carries out research in the areas of digital signal processing and fixed and mobile networking. He has published over 40 international peer reviewedjournal papers and over 80peer reviewed conference papers.He has received funding from industry, from Enterprise Ireland (EI) and from the Irish Research Council (IRC) under variousschemes to fund Ph D and Masters students under his supervision. He carries our cross-disciplinary research with the Clinical Neuroimaging Laboratory in NUI, Galway.

Research Interests

Signal processing in the fields of speech and audio processing, bio-signal processing and image processing. Applied graph theory with application to the analysis of medical imaging. Classification algorithms and their application. Wired and wireless communication technologies and networks.
