Research Interests
My research interest focus on the interface between human physiology and medical device development with a particular emphasis on electrophysiology and neuromodulation. My group employs a multidisciplinary to tackle scientific problems at the level of single channels, to single cells, all the way up to the whole body human physiology and psychology. Our clinical targets include Parkinsons disease, diabetes, autism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), interstitial cystitis and peripheral nerve regeneration.
Teaching Interests
My undergraduateteaching is informed by my research areas, I cover topics such asCellularNeurophysiology Neuromodulation Electrophysiology Cardio Pathophysiology Muscle and Nerve Biology Renal and BladderBiology Scientific Writing andCommunication For postgraduatesI currently supervise a team of 7 PhD students, and co-supervisementor a postdoctoral researcher and 2 research assistants. To date I have supervised 6 PhD to graduation. I also teach onmodules inElectronic Sports Performance Technology to mastersstudents in Electrical and ElectronicEngineering.
