Biography

Leah is a PhD student from Yorkshire, England, studying at the University of Galway as part of the Exploring the Arctic Archive research project. She is currently researching the role of Inuit languages and translation in the search for the Franklin Expedition.

Research Interests

Arctic humanities, Arctic Indigenous languages, youth involvement in Arctic governance, sociolinguistics, history of ideas on language, nineteenth-century studies.

Teaching Interests

Phonetics, phonology, Praat software, Speech and Language Therapy, linguistics.
