Biography

I am Professor in Economics in the J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics, Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies in the College of Business, Public Policy and Law, and Director of the Centre for Economic Research on Inclusivity and Sustainability (CERIS) at University of Galway. I am also currently Vice-President and President-Elect of the Irish Economic Association. I hold a primary degree in Actuarial and Financial Studies and an MA in Economics from University College Dublin, an MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from London School of Economics, and a PhD in Economics from University of Galway. I was a Visiting Scholar at University of California, Berkeley in 2008, a Visiting Researcher at University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015, and Honorary Visiting Professor at University of Wollongong in 2023.
