Biography

Dr. Jason Harold is a Lecturer in Economics and Finance at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics at University of Galway. He was based at the ESRI from June 2017 to August 2018 in the Collaborative Research of Decentralisation, Electrification, Communications and Economics (CREDENCE) project. He was awarded his PhD in Economics in NUI Galway and the title of his thesis was Empirical Essays on Consumer Engagement and Heterogeneity in Residential Energy Demand. He holds a BA degree in Economics and Finance and a MA degree in Financial Engineering, both from NUI Maynooth, as well as a MA degree in Economic Policy Evaluation and Planning from NUI Galway. During his PhD, he worked as a lecturer and teaching assistant in NUI Galway and was also a visiting research scholar in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to commencing his PhD, he worked as an intern for the ESRI.
