Biography

D. James Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at University of Galway.

James obtained his PhD from the Faculty of Economics and Business, the University of Groningen. Before joining the University of Galway, he completed a postdoc project in Supply Chain Management, with a focus on disruption management in supply networks, in the group Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control (OPAC), the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). 

His research has appeared in ABS journals such as International Journal of Production Economics, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, among others. His research has been accepted for presentation in different conferences, including MSOM Conference, European Operations Management Association (EUroMA), Production and Operational Management Society (POMS) conference, American Accounting Association (AAA) Annual Meeting, European Accounting Association (EAA) Annual Congress, among others.

He also received a reviewer award for Organization and Management Theory (OMT) division, Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting. His teaching interests are mainly related to Supply Chain Management.
