Dr Haroon Zafar completed his PhD in Biomedical Physics and Engineering from the University of Galway (Ireland), Erasmus Mundus MSc in Photonics and Optoelectronic Devicesfrom the University of St Andrews and Heriot-Watt University (United Kingdom), MScEng in Photonics Engineering from Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and BScEngin Electrical Engineering.Dr Zafar has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference Public - No restrictionations in internationally respected journals and conferences. He hasreceived over 20 national (Irish) and international research and innovation awardsgrants including the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Irish Research Council (IRC), Enterprise Ireland (EI) and European Union (EU) grants and several International Best Research Paper Awards.His research spans the continuum from basic scientific research through to translational and clinical research which constitutes the true meaning of the phrase bench-to-bedside research and focuses on MedTechmedical device innovation, digital health, AI in medicine and translationalcancer imaging.
