Is Léachtóir in Oideachas STEM trí Ghaeilge é Fintan Hegarty.Tar éis PhD a chríochú in Ollscoil na Gaillimhe, doibrigh sé mar chomhalta taighde sa University of Birmingham, agus ansin doibrigh sé mar eagarthóir agus bainisteoir táirgthe ina dhiaidh sin, le Mathematical Sciences Publishers, lonnaithe i University of California, Berkeley.Dfhill sé ar Ollscoil na Gaillimhe i 2021, áit ar oibrigh sé mar léachtóir agus bainisteoir ionad tacaíochta le Scoil an Mhata agus an tIonad Rochtana, sular ceapadh mar Léachtóir in Oideachas STEM trí Ghaeilge é i 2023, leis an sprioc an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn i gColáiste na hEolaíochta agus na hInnealtóireachta.Tá suim aige san oideachas sna teangacha mionlaithe, oideachas sa mhatamaitic, inrochtaineacht, inbhuanaitheacht, agus matamaitic ríomhaireachtúil.Fintan Hegarty is a Lecturer in STEM Education through Irish.After completing his PhD in Mathematics in University of Galway, he worked as a research fellow in University of Birmingham, before becoming a production editor and then production manager with Mathematical Sciences Publishers, based in University of California, Berkeley.He returned to University of Galway in 2021, and worked as a lecturer and support centre manager with the School of Maths and the Access Centre, before becoming a Lecturer in STEM Education through Irish in 2023, with the aim of promoting the Irish language within the College of Science and Engineering.His research interests are in minority-language education, mathematics education, accessibility, sustainability, and computational mathematics.
