Biography

My name is Emma OCallaghan. I graduated from the University of Galway with a BSc in Podiatry in 2017. I started working in the area of musculoskeletal podiatry and specialised in biomechanics in a private practice in Cork where Ibecame practice manager, the chief mentorandthe lead clinician. I found my passion in the world of podiatric medicine in the areas of biomechanics, rehabilitation, patient psychology and the management of chronic pain. I also have a foundation certificate in youth leadership and and community action andhave a keen interest in mentoring leaders of the future through education. I firmly believe in a patient-centric approach to medical care and believe that adding leadership capabilities to our students enables them to empower patients in their treatment plan.I have worked alongside Crann (a neurological disorders charity) and the Simon Community (homeless charity) both working as a podiatrist and facilitating the running of theirclinics.I have my own business where I started teaching and mentoring qualified podiatrists in the area of biomechanics.
