Emer Davitt is a Lecturer in Education at the School of Education, University of Galway. She primarily works on the Máistir Gairmiúil san Oideachas , where she teaches courses in Curriculum and Assessment, Teaching, Learning and Assessment, and Teaching Methodologies. She also contributes to the Professional Masters in Education at the University of Galway and serves as a tutor on the PDSL programme in association with the University of Limerick. Prior to her secondment to the School of Education, Emer worked as a facilitator and associate with Junior Cycle for Teachers, supporting the introduction of the new Junior Cycle Curriculum for secondary schools. She has over fifteen years of teaching experience at post primary level.Emers research interests lie primarily in Curriculum and Assessment, Pedagogical Adaptivity, and Immersion Education. She is also a research fellow with the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, working with the team on Empathy Education atpost primary level. She has published research in peer reviewed journals and presented at educational conferences on topics including curriculum, pedagogy, immersion education, and empathy education. Emer is currently in the final stages of a PhD researching Teacher Pedagogical Adaptivity during Junior Cycle Reform.
