Dr Eimear Morrissey is a Lecturer in Evidence-Based Healthcare within the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Galway. She holds a PhD in Psychology & Health and an MSc in Health Psychology, both from NUI Galway, as well as a BA in Applied Psychology from UCC.
As a postdoctoral researcher, she managed two pilot Randomised Controlled Trials; the HRB funded MIAMI and the D1 Now studies, during which time she was awarded the European Health Psychology Society Stan Maes Early Career Award and NUI Galway Presidents Award for Societal Impact.
Eimear's research embraces person-centred, inclusive methodologies across the self-management of long-term conditions, health behaviour change, the design, evaluation, and implementation of complex interventions and evidence synthesis. She also has a special interest in public and patient involvement (PPI) in research and has worked closely with PPI contributors at all stages of the research cycle.
