Biography
David is a lecturer in Accounting and Finance in Shannon College of Hotel Management. David is the Programme Leader for the BBS in International Hotel Management and BComm in International Hotel Management in Shannon College of Hotel Management.
David teaches in the area of Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Business Finance and has experience of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional examination levels. David has significant experience of online teaching having taught on a wide range of online programmes both in University of Galway and for other academic institutions.
David is a graduate of University College Cork having completed a Bachelor of Commerce and a MBS in Corporate Finance and Accounting.
Research Interests
David is interested in economic factors in pricing strategies, revenue management and application of same in hopsitality.
He has completed research on the pricing effects of thoroughbred yearlings in UK and Ireland auction houses. He has presented findings from this research at the annual Irish Accounting and Finance Association (IAFA) conferences in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He has also presented these findings at the Agricultural Economics Society (AES) conference in Bordeaux in April 2025.
