Biography

David Kelly is Digital Humanities Manager in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, and is Project Lead at the Centre for Creative Technologies, at University of Galway.

With over 17 years’ experience in academia and industry, David works with individual researchers and project teams from across the Arts and Humanities on the use of digital technologies to enable innovative Digital Humanities and Creative Tech research projects. Working across all phases of project design and development, this can involve initial consultations on design and technology scoping, technical project management, the design and development of digital platforms and supporting technical infrastructures, and the management and maintenance of digital projects beyond the life of their funding.

David has collaborated on multiple Irish Research Council, European Research Council, Horizon Europe, Science Foundation Ireland, Creative Ireland, and Heritage Council-funded projects. In the past two years, projects he worked on have won a social impact award from the ENLIGHT European University Network which promotes equitable quality of life, sustainability and global engagement through higher education, and a Heritage Week Award from the Heritage Council in Ireland.
