Biography

Constantina has been a Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Galway since February 2016. Her academic journey began at the University of Patras in Greece, where she conducted her PhD research under Prof. Spyros P. Perlepes. After her postdoctoral work with Prof. George Christou at the University of Florida from 2008 to 2011, she earned a Marie Curie fellowship and moved to the University of Cyprus, where she served from 2011 to 2016.Currently, Constantina leads thea target=_blank rel=nofollow href=https:papatriantafyllopo.wixsite.comwebsiteresearchGalway Porous Materials group. Their research focuses on synthesising and characterisingnew Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). The groups goal is to develop innovative materials with two main features: 1) targeted and controlled drug delivery to address current challenges in the pharmaceutical industry and biomedical devices; 2) a new generation of MOF-based sensors for adsorbing and detecting environmentally hazardous species.
