Web Science, Network Science, Web and Data Mining, Data Visualisation, Data Visualization, Dynamic Graph and Network Analysis, Much of my work fits into the Web Science and Web mining/analytics paradigm -- analysing and modeling the Web as a socio-technical system to understand how it can be developed for the future.
Dr Conor Hayes is a senior lecturer in the School of Computer Science, NUI Galway. Dr Hayes graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2004 with PhD in Artificial Intelligence.From 2004 to 2007, Dr Hayescarried out his postdoctoral research at the Augmented intelligence Group at the a target=_blank rel=nofollow href=https:ict.fbk.euBruno Kessler Institute in Trento, Italy. Between 2007 and 2012, he was a senior research fellow at theDigital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI)at NUI Galway, where he founded the research unit for Information Mining and Retrieval (UIMR). From 2015 to 2018, Dr Hayes was the programme director for the MScDiploma in Computer Science (Data Analytics) at NUI Galway. From 2018 to 2019 he was programme director for the online MSc in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) - overseeing the funding acquisition and development of this new programme.Dr Hayes has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, books and conferences in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data analytics. He is a programme committee member for the leading conferences in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics such as International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence IJCAI (distinguished reviewer), AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, World Wide Web Conference (WWW), ACM Recommender Systems (RecSys), International Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM). Since joining NUI Galway, Dr Hayeshas been responsible for acquiring and executing research and programme development grants of over 4,300,000.
