Biography

PhD in Anaesthesia (Lung Biology) from NUI Galway in 2014. Worked on a European Respiratory Society fellowship at St Michael’s hospital, Toronto, studying novel techniques in stromal cell-immune cell interactions. Investigated biopharmaceuticals to treat pneumonia at TUS Midlands. Currently working as a Research fellow on European Defence Funding in the O'Toole group, University of Galway, working as lab, project, and programme manager for four separate EU projects. Skilled in pre-clinical research focusing on pulmonary and systemic sepsis rodent models, novel therapeutic investigation including cell therapies, and processing human samples to demonstrate physiological and immunological parameters of injury and repair. Lecturer, Postgraduate supervisor, Member of the Animal Welfare Committee, CMNHS Reserach Ethics Committee, and the university staff wellness committee.
