Biography

Chris Doyle is a Lecturer Above the Bar in Ancient & Medieval History in the School of History and Philosophy at the University of Galway. He is interested in the religion, society, and material culture of early medieval Ireland, Europe, North Africa and the Near East.

Research Interests

Religious iconography; race and identity; material culture; numismatics.

Teaching Interests

Greek & Roman history; medieval Irish, European, and Byzantine history.
