Biography
Dr. Carmen Kealy is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Galway with a PhD in Child and Youth Research and a strong track record in advancing the wellbeing of children, young people, and families. Her work bridges academic rigor with practical impact, spanning qualitative and quantitative research, teaching, policy development, and cross-sector collaboration. She has led and contributed to high-profile national and international projects on topics including migrant parenting, youth mental health, educational equity, and family support, producing peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, and commissioned reports for organisations such as UNESCO, the Ombudsman for Children, and the Doha International Family Institute.
Fluent in English and German, Dr. Kealy is recognised for her ability to co-produce research with communities, translate findings into actionable policy, and engage diverse audiences—from academic conferences to global policy forums.
