Biography

I am Established Professor of Statistical Sciencein the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences in the University of Galway, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Canterbury,New Zealand. Previously, I worked for 16 year at thea target=_blank rel=nofollow href=https:www.canterbury.ac.nzstudyacademic-studyengineeringschools-and-departments-engineering-forestry-product-designschool-of-mathematics-and-statistics University of Canterbury, NZ ,I am a member of the a target=_blank rel=nofollow href=https:sonrai.shinyapps.ioSonrai_Research_ClusterSonraí Health Data Science Research Cluster at the University of Galway.We develop and apply statistical and computational methods to clinical and genomics data. My primary research areas are in extreme value modelling, biostatistics, data science and various forms of statistical modelling with application to medical, environmental, industrialand scientific problems. I have also undertaken multiple senior administration roles; including Head of Discipline, lead developer of various degree programmes, programme Director and have led many statistical scienceprogramme redevelopments. I have developed and taught a multitude of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Statistics, Data Science, and Financial Mathematics, for students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Developed and taught courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Statistics, Data Science and Financial Mathematics, for students from a wide range of backgrounds.
