Biography

Caomhán Lyons is a post-doctoral researcher in REMEDI since November 2023. He completed his PhD in October 2023 in the University of Galway entitled Autologous Peripheral Blood Endothelial Progenitor Cells as a Potential Therapy for Diabetic Critical Limb Ischemia. Caomhán received his MSc in Cell and Tissue Engineering in Keele Unveristy in 2017 where he worked on developing a novel bioreactor to for corneal transplantation. He received his BSc in Undenominated Science in the University of Galway in 2016. His research focus is on endothelial colony forming cells and their potential for treating critical limb ischaemia with and without diabetes mellitus. Caomhán is an SFI funded researcher working on developing advanced therapeutic medicinal products using endothelial colony forming cells for critical limb ischaemia
