Biography

Breda Lally has been working as a lecturer at University Galway since 1999. She was based in St. Angelas College, Sligo from 1999 to 2015 where she taught Economics on the undergraduate BA (Environment and Society Youth and Family Studies) programme offered by the University of Galway (then NUI Galway) and was programme director for a number of years. She is currently lecturing in University of Galway, where she contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Economics. She is also currently programme director for the Higher Diploma in Business Studies programme.

Research Interests

Breda’s research interests include environmental and agri-environmental economics. She has worked on an EU-funded agricultural research project with other European institutions and has undertaken research for Teagasc and the Department of Agriculture and Food. Her current research interests include analysing different types of environmental projects such as noise mitigation measures and battery storage for wind energy.
