Biography

Dr. Anup Poudel conducts both fundamental and applied research in the fields of smart biomaterials, impedance-based biosensors, and the design and development of medical devices as alternatives to therapeutic purposes. He has over 10 years of applied research and design experience in academia and industrial collaborative roles with a focus on interaction, accumulation and integration of research, product design development, prototyping, verification/validation testing, documentation and manufacturing-related processes in the area of medical devices. The majority of his research and development work is in the field of medical device development in association with multiple industries (Neurent Medical, SCF Processing Ltd., Fastform Medical Devices, Merit medical etc). Anup has numerous patents and publications in the field of smart device and sensors development in various journals. In addition, Dr Poudel has held the position of director for the European Medical Polymers Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers and was the keynote speaker at major conferences at multiple international events in the field of design and development of medical devices.
