Overview of our Research

The School of Computer Science considers research to be a fundamental aspect of its mission and pursues research projects in a broad range of areas, including Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, Computing in Society and Education, Medical Informatics, Performance Engineering, Games, and System Dynamics.

Our academic staff currently supervises about 60 postgraduate research students, and our research is funded by international and national agencies, including the European Union, and Research Ireland. Furthermore, many of our research projects have been conducted in collaboration with renowned industry partners.

Our university is situated in a unique and vibrant region of Europe, renowned for its distinct culture, innovation, and strong economy, with sectors like medical technology, manufacturing, and information technology. We are home to our flagship research institute: Data Science Institute .
