Overview of our Research

The Discipline of Bioinformatics is a vibrant community of full-time academic staff, postdoctoral researchers, research assistants, and graduate (PhD & MSc) researchers. Members of the discipline have expertise in the development and application of novel statistical and computational methods to analyze large biological datasets, as well as specific interests in the areas of cancer multi-omics, complex disease genomics, pathogen genomics, and molecular evolution. Research within the discipline is supported by key national and international funders, including Horizon Europe, Research Ireland, and the Health Research Board.
