The work examined the concept of the feminization of poverty in relation to the Irish social welfare system. Social welfare policies recently included 'women only' payment schemes in the 1980s.  The research sought to show that the dependency status of Irish women within the institutions of s AwardedSociology 'Female Poverty and the Irish Social Welfare System.'
