Research (e.g. Community based research). Lead. Patient and public involvement in healthcare research fosters collaborative decision-making and empowers individuals to play an active role in shaping the research agenda and outcomes. It recognises the vital role that patients and the public play in improving the relevance, quality, and impact of healthcare research. The ICAPSS involves patients and the public in research and also in education (PPIE) and aims to ensure that both research studies and educational plans and programmes are conducted from the perspective of those who will ultimately benefit from the outcomes. The ICAPSS PPI group was established in 2022 to support the ICAPSS research themes and also the design and delivery of a modern evidence based healthcare curriculum in patient safety and in simulation based education. The group comprises 5 members from diverse backgrounds who were recruited via an expression of interest social medial campaign. To date the group have met 3 times and have worked on the development of the new patient safety curriculum for the school of medicine. In AY23 24 they will come to the Interprofessional Simulation Facility in the Clinical Science Institute to view some of the simulation facilities and activities. This will help inform them for their next piece of work which will be to review some of the simulation scenarios from a healthcare user perspective.| Period | 1 Feb 2022 → … |
