Research (e.g. Community based research). Co-ordinator, organizer, demonstrator. I have organized and participated of many public engagement activities during my carrier in research. As part of our work with human parasitology in Brazil, I went to schools and public education centres to bring parasitology and science close to the public (children, parents and teachers). These included creating and delivering appropriate activities to raise awareness of those parasitic diseases most prevalent in each community. These were also an essential part of our fieldworks, where public engagement is essential for the success of the collection of samples and adhesion to treatments or control measures that can result in significant reduction or elimination of the problem.
