External Collaboration. Science drivers (main PI) and radio observations in Ultracool Dwarf joint projects. Gregg was a PhD student, and later a postdoc, in NUIG when I began working with him on Ultracool dwarfs. We continued our collaboration when he moved on to Berkeley NRAO and then Caltech.
His studies of these objects at radio wavelengths led to my involvement through a need for follow-on or simultaneous optical IR studies in the domains of spectroscopy and timeseries photometry, the latter primarily with the GUFI camera of which I was P.I.
Gregg and I travelled to Hawaii to use the Gemini North telescope in 2011, but blizzards at the summit meant we came away with nothing!
