    Description

Outreach. PI. Lie2Me was an exhibit developed for the FAKE exhibition in Science Gallery, Dublin in 2018. It is a simple game in which you have to tell the truth or lie when provided with a series of autobiographical questions. You can click here to try it out. The Lie2Me team included Sam Redfern, Nick Duran, and Arkady Zgonnikov. Nicks previous work had shown that, when we have to move our hand to make a false response, such as clicking a button for Yes instead of No with a computer mouse, our movements are slower and more deflected from the fastest route than when we tell the truth. This has important implications for how the brain is organised. Specifically, do the motor areas of the brain just wait for the language areas of the brain to complete their work before moving, or do they receive inputs before processing is complete and work with those?
