Outreach. Principal Investigator. This project, developed in collaboration with Tr�caire, aimed to re-insert history into discussions about Europe�s on-going humanitarian crisis. It does so by engaging academics and humanitarians in a study of humanitarian intervention in Somalia since the 1990s, and by drawing lessons from that experience for present-day policy-makers. The project will use data gathered through a one-day workshop (hosted by Tr�caire) in pursuit of the following objectives: (1) to generate an open-access resource of historical case studies and critical reflection tools aimed at the humanitarian community; and (2) to promote collaboration between historians and humanitarians, leading to a Horizon 2020 project on �Humanitarian Europe since 1945�.
